An artist from Macabebe town was inspired by zombies and apocalyptic movies so he recreated his hometown.

If you’re a fan of zombie flicks and post-apocalyptic series like The Walking Dead and Alice in Borderland, or a gamer who plays The Last of Us, you probably have thought about what the apocalypse is like in real life.

The questions “What weapon will you have?” or “Where will you stay?”, for sure, were already asked in one of your discussions with friends and family.

But, have you ever imagined how Pampanga will look like when the flesh-eating monsters or strange game organizers take over? An artist from Macabebe can help you visualize it— and even find a safe place to hide when the dreaded apocalypse comes.

31-year-old Jhon Lerrie Cortez loves to watch zombie and apocalyptic movies so he created various artworks depicting different “abandoned” places in Pampanga.

“It’s just out of curiosity. Though it may not happen, I just wanna know what places will look like when they become ghost towns. I also have unique attractions to abandoned places,” he shared with Pampanga360.

Cortez finished BS Secondary Education in Pampanga Central Colleges and a two-year course in STI San Fernando. He started making digital art when he was still in college and continued up until now while working as a pharmacy assistant. / Photo by Jhon Lerrie Cortez.

Among his works that are making noise over the internet are the abandoned versions of SM City Pampanga which was shared more than 5,000 times on Facebook, SM City Clark, and his hometown Macabebe

He uses Photoleap to edit the photos he personally took on location or downloaded from the internet.

“I’m happy to share my simple artworks and pick other’s curiosity,”

Cortez added.

Cortez said he has been receiving requests to edit various photos and tries to entertain them when he’s free.

Here are some of his awesome post-apocalyptic artworks uploaded on his Facebook page:

Nepo Mall
SM City Clark
Macabebe Municipal Hall
Sta. Ana Market (Going to Candaba)
Flora Avenue (711 Side Gate, HAU)
