A group of Kapampangan bikers is organizing a solidarity ride for the hundreds of trees that are soon to be cut along Fil-Am Friendship Hi-Way in Angeles City. The event titled “PALDAKAN SIKANAN PARA KARENG TANAMAN” is scheduled on February 21, 2021.

Participants are advised to bring their own bells and/or horns for the said event. The ride-out is set at six in the morning, at the Mc Arthur Hi-Way, near La Pieta Memorial Park.

“I invite you, my fellow bikers, that we unite and come together to stand tall for these innocent and purposeful Acacia trees. Now that they are trying to take them down, let us stand for and beside them,” says Harvs Santiago, one of the event organizers.

The Department of Public Works and Highways is set to cut the 259 trees, mostly 60 years old, to give way for a road-widening project.
